Well well well, we’ve made it through Summer and as the leaves change so must our new music playlists! Have a gander at our Punk Rock Philosophy picks of the best new punk tracks out NOW.
Autoignition- ‘Buzzer Beater‘
Kicking off, we’ve got a great track from New York pop punk band Autoignition. The quartet released their EP ‘Against The World’ back in May, and if you haven’t heard it yet then new single ‘Buzzer Beater’ is taken straight from the release so will give you a flavour of the band’s new offering! Autoignition are heading out on a packed tour schedule in the US across October and November and this punchy new song is fittingly centred on life on the road. It’s a stripped back track with a catchy charm and we’re willing to bet it will drive you straight into the arms of their EP to get more tunes! Order/stream HERE.
Adjust the Sails- ‘GLP-One Punch Man‘
Next up is Adjust The Sails- the emotionally candid project led by singer-songwriter Shane Hurst. Their new track ‘GLP-One Punch Man’ is jaunty and energetic with a cute melody- but the lyrics are something altogether more dark and poignant. It’s a deeply personal song, reflecting on depression, anxiety, relationship strain, and the emotional crash that followed Hurst’s first full US tour. “I kinda wanna die” is the opening line delivered on top of a rather upbeat little riff – a clever juxtaposition that somehow makes it feel all the more moving. Speaking of the track, Hurst says: “I wrote ‘GLP-One Punch Man’ after coming home from my first full U.S. tour. After being away from home for over a month, reintegrating into normal life and being back in my house was tough. I became depressed. I ended up staring up at the ceiling in my bedroom until 3 a.m. one night feeling consumed, hopeless, and lost. As the days went on, the thought stayed but became a more selfish idea of, ‘Well, if I just died temporarily, I could get a break and I could see if it would actually affect anyone.’ Rather than acting on it, I just wrote about it.” 2026 was a big year for Adjust the Sails, as the project finally took the plunge and hit the road. Adjust the Sails did two headline tours, a co-headline tour with Thoughts on Bowling, and brought the songs to audiences across the country after years online. Doom Scroll- ‘Sisyphus‘
Colorado folk-punk band Doom Scroll are releasing their new album ‘Exhausted Dialogue’ on 6th October having just signed with Flail Records- it’s all go for this band! Their new single ‘Sisyphus’ is a sneak preview of the LP and it follows on from recent singles ‘The Ravine‘ and ‘Zugzwang‘. All three tracks appear on ‘Exhausted Dialogue‘, Doom Scroll’s first full-length since 2021’s ‘Immoral Compass‘. Formed in 2020, the band have been staunchly independent for years and recorded the new LP themselves, with vocalist and guitarist Elliot Lozier and guitarist Jon Pizarro tracking the album in their bedrooms. The title of the new single comes from the Greek myth of Sisyphus who was condemned by the Gods to eternally push a boulder up a hill only for it to always roll back down where he would have to start the push again. Of the track, the band said: “The song is about being stuck in a Groundhog Day scenario where the monotony and repetition of making a living wage dilutes the feeling of being alive. Instead of working together, capitalism keeps us separated and forces the poor to live in this awful cycle like Sisyphus.” Following the release of ‘Exhausted Dialogue’, Doom Scroll will head back out on the road for a run through the Midwest and Southeast, ending with an early show at FEST in Gainesville, Florida. Mouth Culture-‘ Growing Pains‘
Leicester trio Mouth Culture have released their first new music of 2026, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Leicester trio. Their poignant new single ‘Growing Pains‘ is a sumptuous track with some delicate and intricate melodies that elevate the track’s indie sensibilities. The song captures the balancing act at the heart of the band’s journey so far – chasing something you believe in while trying to hold onto everything else around it. Bassist Todd Groome explains: “There’s more to balance now than there was when we started. You want to give everything to the band, but you’ve also got relationships, family, friends and everything else happening around it. Sometimes those things pull against each other and you don’t always get it right. I think we’re all learning what chasing this actually asks of you.” Mouth Culture released a handful of singles throughout 2025 including the acerbic ‘Ratbag‘ and driving ‘On and On‘. Their wider discography includes the EPs ‘These Days Mixtape‘ (2021), ‘Mishaps Of My Mid Twenties‘ (2023) and ‘Whatever The Weather‘ (2024). And if you want to see the band live, they’re on a UK tour in February! So see if they’re heading to your town! Stream the single HERE.
The Drowns- ‘3rd And Pike‘
Seattle’s The Drowns have just released their new full length album ‘Harsh Reality’ and ‘3rd and Pike’ is the third single to be taken from their fourth LP. ‘Harsh Reality’ combines streetpunk grit with melody, heart, and a genuine pop sensibility and the new single is a perfect demonstration of what the band has to offer. The new material is a follow up to 2024’s glam influenced ‘Blacked Out’ and the 2025 live recording release ‘Live at Rebellion’. ‘Harsh Reality’ is unabashedly political but explores themes like the relentless ravages of capitalism in a way that reaches out a hand of solidarity and compassion to those who need it most. The band’s music is described as “life-affirming music for hard times” and it certainly is that and surely that is a big dose of something all of us need? Listen and purchase the new album HERE.
Bed Maker- ‘The Mark‘
It’s Bed Maker’s first new music since their acclaimed 2024 self-titled debut- the new 2-song single features ‘The Mark’ as the A-side, backed by ‘What Boy Where’ on the B-side. Recorded and mixed at Tonal Park with Ian MacKaye and Don Godwin, the two tightly wound tracks showcase Bed Maker’s distinctive blend of tension, urgency, and controlled chaos. The band said of the tracks: “These two songs were fuelled by examples of inequity in the treatment of people or the abject negligence to see a person and their value to the world.” It’s an edgy post- punk sound with uncompromising, goading vocals by Amanda MacKaye and the buzz around the band’s live performance make them a must-see. With a second LP planned for 2027 and more shows on the horizon, Bed Maker continue to build on the chemistry, intensity, and musicianship that have defined the band from the start. You can buy the 2-track release on Dischord Records HERE.
The Albert Square- ‘Doom Loop Dumpster Fire‘
‘Doom Loop Dumpster Fire‘ is the new single from San Jose indie rock project The Albert Square. The lyrics confront chronic depression, the fear of admitting you’re not okay, and the panic that the feeling might never end. While the song captures the spiralling internal monologue of fear and doubt, it also finds hope in breaking that isolation. Songwriter Sim Castro has been open about his own experiences with anxiety and chronic depression and believes that naming those feelings can begin to loosen its emotional grip on a person’s psyche. “I really do think being open, honest, and direct about depression helps to take the wind out of its sails, so to speak” says Castro. The single is the second to be taken from their album, ‘I (Wish I Could) Talk To People‘ that was released last month on Asian Man Records. ‘Doom Loop Dumpster Fire‘ is a riff-y, melodic indie-punk gem and a great ambassador track for the full album. And….the video features a cameo by Asian Man Records head Mike Park! Stream the track HERE or check out the album HERE.
The Cadets- ‘Bird of Paradise‘
A great little retro-sounding track now with Florida band The Cadets and their unique new song ‘Bird of Paradise‘. Since hearing it, it’s been a firm favourite here at Punk Rock Philosophy- we love the spangly, twangy guitar sound and the stressed vocals like if Ween collaborated with The Shadows. The Cadets formed all the way back in 1995 and released their first full length, self titled LP in 1999. There’s been a fair few lineup changes over the years but put out more albums with ‘Conditions on Alpha Atoll‘ (2001) and then their third On the Death of Science as a Major World Religion (2006) before going on hiatus. Now they are back at full strength and pushing into new territory they only saw on the horizon as teenagers! Their sonic aesthetic is still very much early rock ‘n’ roll with surf-y sci fi vibes, described as “delightfully peculiar“. ‘Bird of Paradise’ is taken from their brand new album ‘Exile In Marginalia Vol 4‘ out via Bar/None. Ordering options for the new album can be found HERE.
