Hello again punks! It has been a while since we’ve rounded up our picks of the new releases (mainly because we’ve been so busy bringing you lots of great interviews and features) BUT…there’s just too much great new music that we felt compelled to showcase some for you! So without further ado, here’s a tasty buffet of delicious new punk rock AND because it is a spooky special occasion we’re bringing you a bumper portion!
Yakkie- ‘Kill The Cop Inside Your Head‘
If you’re not already listening to the fierce and fabulous London-based supergroup Yakkie then, this is your signal to start. With a debut full length album being slated for release in February 2026 and a support slot on the Dead Pioneers’ UK tour in the same month, Yakkie are gonna be IN YOUR FACE and you’re gonna like it. This new single (out today on Bandcamp only) is a rousing rallying cry with vocalist Janey Starling explaining: “This is a song against self-defeat. The cop in your head will talk you out of your own power before you’ve had a chance to taste it. He wants your despair to calcify into defeat so you roll over for fascism and tell yourself there’s nothing anyone could have done to stop it. He tells you that there’s no practical alternative to this soul-sucking meat grinder that is late capitalism. If you don’t kill the cop inside your head, you will become him.” Oh and if you needed another reason to check the new track out, the video has LEGO in it! Stream/buy the single HERE.
The Brokedowns: ‘In Praise of the Pedastal‘
Chicago stalwarts The Brokedowns have a new album out in November (‘Let’s Tip the Landlord’) and their new single ‘In Praise of the Pedastal‘ gives us a sneaky peak of the 13-track release. The band do satire, dystopia and modern existential crisis so well and their new music follows the same train of thought. When talking of the new single, the band explain: “it asks asks whether a life untouched by greed can even count as living — a question that feels familiar, uncomfortable, and unavoidable. It’s a hymn for the overworked and underwhelmed, a prayer whispered through clenched teeth.” Somewhere in the noise, The Brokedowns make mockery sound like devotion and despair feel almost fun.” The video skewers those influencer-recorded ‘day in the life’ videos with the band even creating a new health shake comprised of “Ferrari fluid and lambo cream“. Last Hounds: ‘World’s Disease‘
Midlands hardcore outfit Last Hounds release their hard hitting new single ‘World’s Disease’ and if face melting riffs and head banging chops are what you’re looking for then you’ve hit the jackpot. “World’s Disease’ is about the uneasy space between personal change and a world that feels like it’s falling apart”, explains frontman Mikey Skelcher, “At its core, it’s about burnout, fake smiles, the sound of trying to figure out if you’re losing faith or just finally seeing things for how they really are.” This December will see the band embark on their first national headline tour so get ready for some winter chaos! Your Heterosexual Violence: ‘I Could Be With You‘
A cool old school punk sound now from cult 80s psych/punks Your Heterosexual Violence with their new single ‘I Could Be With You‘. The track is the latest to be taken from their new album ‘Some People Have Too Much To Say‘, out now on Trapped Animal Records. It’s got retro, catchy riffs and endearingly fuzzy and scruffy vibes as frontman Brian O’Brien sings a love song to a beloved town of Crewe. Yes, Crewe. You can stream the single HERE and ditto with the album HERE.
Softcult: ‘She Said, He Said‘
Canadian twins Mercedes and Phoenix make up the powerful duo Softcult who have things they wanna say and you’re gonna need to hear them. Their single ‘She Said, He Said’ is a absorbing and affecting song about surviving a sexual assault in a context of culturally ingrained misogyny. It’s a gut-punch of a track taken from their forthcoming debut LP ‘When A Flower Doesn’t Grow‘ which is due to be released in January. As she does with all their videos, Mercedes wrote / produced / directed the video for ‘She Said, He Said’ weaving clues and easter eggs from past videos (‘Naive‘, ‘16/25‘) to represent a common theme of patriarchal oppression and abuse. It’s a enduringly topical and bold track that cement the band as one that aren’t afraid to address difficult issues head on via their music.
Sunbendr: ‘Pictures’
Now a more light and airy track from a band who know how to create tight melodies within a variety of different sounds, channelling pop punk, 60s guitar bands and indie rock. ‘Pictures‘ is taken from the band’s dynamic five-song session with acclaimed producer George Perks. Recorded in March 2025 between Tom DeLonge’s private home studio and Chris Prescott’s Belly of the Whale Studio, the track captures Sunbendr at full creative strength—fusing expansive atmosphere with the band’s trademark urgency. This song is bound to let some light into these darker, winter nights. Stream ‘Pictures‘ HERE.
Weatherstate: ‘Fear‘
Now I know you’re probably thinking that for a playlist shared on Halloween, we’ve not got a lot of spooky-themed songs. So, allow us to offer up this track by Weymouth punk outfit Weatherstate which delivers a sharp punch of punk rock AND a Blair Witch inspired shaky cam video to boot! Vocalist and guitarist Harry Hoskins explains the track’s intense edge: “fear reflects the claustrophobia of your own mind—the fight-or-flight tension we all feel in an uncertain world. The heavier, faster nature of the song is our response to that feeling, like a needle threatening to pop a balloon. But there’s an adrenaline rush in there too, something exciting and positive.” Stream the track HERE.
Self Torque: ‘(All the Things I ) Wannabe‘
Punk trio Self Torque emerged out of the incredibly productive DIY punk scene in Brighton (there’s summat in the water down in Sussex) and offer this single as a taster of their debut album ‘A Brutal Nadir’ which will be released 30th January 2026 via Sugar-Free Records. Speaking of the track, guitarist and vocalist Gabriel MacKenzie says: “The single was written on a cold and wet day, sitting in a work van, listening to Californian garage and dreaming about being somewhere else and someone else. It is very much about identity. Tackling the contradictions that come with trying to work out who you are and the extremes one can flit between. There’s a lot of internal conflict, which is mirrored in the music. Dynamically, it shifts from hard, fast and direct to a slow, doomy chasm of choir and reverb.” The band display all the grit and confidence that their collective experience in the punk trenches has inspired and whatever mixture they’ve got going on in their current configuration, if this track is anything to go by, they’ve cracked the formula.
